Hand Washing with Soap-Water or Hand Sanitize,Which one is Beneficial??

The first line of defense against viruses and disease-causing bacteria on our hands is washing them well (about 20 seconds) with plain-old soap and water.

Hand sanitizers aren’t a bad thing to have on hand, especially when you don’t have access to soap and water. But, when you can, wash your hands instead.

When we should Wash our Hands :

1.Always wash your hands before:

-Preparing food or eating
-Treating wounds or caring for a sick person
-Inserting or removing contact lenses

2.Always wash your hands after:

-Preparing food
-Using the toilet, changing a diaper or cleaning up a child who has used the toilet
-Touching an animal, animal feed or animal waste
-Blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
-Treating wounds or caring for a sick person
-Handling garbage
-Handling pet food or pet treats

3.wash your hands when they are visibly dirty.

Procedure of Using Hand Sanitizer :

1.Check the label for how much to use and apply the product to the palm of one hand.
2.Rub your hands together.
3.Rub the product over all surfaces of your hands and fingers until your hands are dry, about 20 seconds.

Procedure of Using Soap-Water :

1.Wet your hands with clean running water and apply soap.
2.Rub your hands together, lathering and scrubbing well; be sure to scrub the backs of your hands, between your fingers and under your nails.
3.Continue rubbing your hands for at least 20 seconds. This is about the time it takes to hum or sing "Happy Birthday" from beginning to end twice.
4.Rinse your hands well under running water.
5.Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry.

Limitations of Using Hand Sanitizer :

1.sanitizers do not eliminate all types of germs.Sanitizers don’t protect against some types of bacteria including one called
C. difficile and some types of virus including one called norovirus.
2.Hand sanitizers may not be as effective when hands are visibly dirty or greasy.
3.Hand sanitizers might not remove harmful chemicals, like pesticides and heavy metals, from hands.

Advantages of Using Soap-Water :

1.soap and water are more effective at removing certain types of germs.Viruses are most effectively killed and removed from hands with soap and water.
2.They do a better job of preserving the flora, or "good" bacteria, on your hands.

washing hands with soap and water whenever possible because hand washing reduces the amounts of all types of germs and chemicals on hands.

If soap and water are not available, using a hand sanitizer with at least 70% alcohol can help you avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.
